Quarter note and eighth note patterns can be tricky for our young singers. Inspired by the funny internet memes, my introductory vocal class kids and my favorite student, Cole, helped me create this fun sheet to help with rhythm reading and keeping a steady beat.

Food Rhythms

Teaching Tip: Ask your students to notate/clap and count their favorite foods!
Clap a Meal - Have students pick THREE favorite foods and then clap the rhythms while keeping a steady beat.
Think Quick! Teacher points to food at random and student has to clap the rhythm. Have students be the teacher and point to foods for you to clap!
